# Roles, Responsibilities and App Permission settings

## 🧑‍🎓<mark style="color:orange;">! Key Information</mark>

<mark style="color:orange;">This section refers to the asset</mark> <mark style="color:orange;"></mark><mark style="color:orange;">**ROLES**</mark> <mark style="color:orange;">**available**</mark> <mark style="color:orange;"></mark><mark style="color:orange;">for</mark> <mark style="color:orange;"></mark><mark style="color:orange;">**app users**</mark><mark style="color:orange;">, and the</mark> <mark style="color:orange;"></mark><mark style="color:orange;">**permission (app access) settings**</mark> <mark style="color:orange;"></mark><mark style="color:orange;">for</mark> <mark style="color:orange;"></mark><mark style="color:orange;">**each**</mark><mark style="color:orange;">**&#x20;**</mark>*<mark style="color:orange;">**role.**</mark>*

#### Roles can be set up at the fleet level and shared across multiple assets, or be unique to each asset.

#### You can create as many roles as you like, and assign each role **one of three** different **ACCESS LEVELS**.&#x20;

Each **ACCESS LEVEL** has multiple sections, each of which can be set to either **EDIT, VIEW, or NONE**.

1. **EDIT:** App users can make changes to the that section of the SMS or asset profile.&#x20;
2. **VIEW**: App users can view that section and complete logs, but are unable to make edits to the content. I.E. if the section "Crew Management" is set to "View" the user can see the crew list but cannot add or remove crew. Or if the section Maintenance is set to EDIT, users can complete logs AND change the maintenance checklist items.
3. **NONE:** Users simply do not have this button or feature in their version of the app.

**Each role can have up to ten responsibility or other statements attached to it.**

**Each role also has unique notification settings for in app notifications**&#x20;

{% endhint %}

#### Options available for access levels for each section in the app:

<table><thead><tr><th width="142">Option</th><th>Explanation</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>None</td><td>These sections won't appear in the app for the user</td></tr><tr><td>View</td><td>The user will be able to view and complete logs in the app</td></tr><tr><td>Edit</td><td>The user will be able to view/edit these sections, as well as make edits to content (ie edit SMS content, add or remove plant or equipment)</td></tr></tbody></table>
