Set up a new Fleet.

This page explains how to get started by setting up your marine fleet.

Please note that if you are NOT THE OWNER of the Fleet you want to manage, please check with the owner in case a Fleet is already set up in OffshoreSMS.

In this case you should ask them to add you to their existing fleet.

KEY CONCEPTS:

In OffshoreSMS, all vessels or other marine assets, and all of the people involved must be connected to the FLEET.

A Fleet is usually the name of your business or organisation.

You can be an administrator of many fleets, and you can have as many vessels or assets in a fleet as you like.

You must have a user account to set up or join a Fleet. See step 1 on the previous page for information on how to do this.

Many users may only require app access to assets. These users do not need access to the fleet dashboard, but will still need to be added to the fleet team.

Creating a new OffshoreSMS fleet from the web dashboard

This can be done from the OffshoreSMS app, or from the web dashboard on a Mac or PC.

We recommend setting up new fleets in the web dashboard as there is limited functionality to set up your fleet properly in the mobile app.

Step 1: Once you are logged in, look for the "Set up a New Fleet" button on the right of screen.

Remember, only add a fleet if this is a new fleet on OffshoreSMS and you are the primary administrator of the fleet.

Step 2: Fill in the name and location of your fleet, and click "Save New Fleet"

Step 4: Click on your new fleet to access your fleet dashboard.
