Crew Inductions

Information about setting up induction checklists and viewing crew's induction history and status.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

OffshoreSMS has two features to capture the inductions for joining and existing crew:

1. Self inductions - These are completed by the app user on their own device, and require them to read and sign off on the important content of the assets SMS profile.

2. Asset (Vessel) inductions - These are usually completed on board by the Master or another responsible person, and include the items on the Induction Checklist, which admins can manage (see below).

Create and manage the Induction Checklist:

1. From the assets page, select the People tab, then "Crew Induction Checklist".

2. Select "+ Add Content" and choose to either add one of our helper items (you can edit these once they have been added), add fleet content, or write a new item unique to the asset.

3. If you choose to write your own, you will have the option to use our AI tool to write one for you, which you can then edit as required.

4. to manually update the order of checklist items, use the "Update saved order" button at the top of the page. This allows you to drag and drop the checklist items into your preferred order OR

5. Use the "Sort By" function to choose an automatic sorting method. I.E. Alphabetical.

6. You can revert to the order you last manually sorted the items by at any time selecting the "Reset" button on the top right of screen.

Note: The order of fleet content is determined by the order in the fleet library. See Fleet Content for more information.

View an individual crew members induction history on an asset:

1. From the assets page, select the People tab, then "Manage All Crew"

2. Click on a crew member's tile to reveal the action buttons

3. Select "Inductions".

4. Use the tabs at the top to view either the on-board inductions or the self inductions.

View the induction matrix for all crew on an asset:

1. From the assets page, select the People tab, then "Manage All Crew"

2. Select the "Induction Matrix" at the top of the page, then "Load Inductions Matrix"

3. All crews inductions and due dates will appear here. Overdue Inductions will appear in red, and inductions due will appear in orange.

4. Select the checkbox options to customise and hide criteria for the matrix results, or update the alert window to adjust the period that determines when an induction flags as DUE.

View the whole induction history for an asset:

1. From the assets home page, select the history tab.

2. Choose either Crew Inductions, or Crew Self Inductions.

3. Use the filter function at the top of the page to show or hide as required.

4. Click on a line item to show the complete log summary.
