Revisions, Edits and Version control
Our powerful version control features!
Version control and amendment history:
Most SMS content in OffshoreSMS is managed by our powerful version history feature:
Every time an edit is made to SMS content, the previous version (and the last 5 versions) of each ITEM is saved, including the time stamp and user ID.
Admins can view or re-instate any of these previous versions.
Admins can also enable a setting to require a second admin's approval for edits.
Often SMS content will be reviewed without making an Edit, and sometimes an edit does not count as a review. Edits and reviews are captured separately but can also be captured simultaneously if required.
The history of both is saved in the content items page.
Note: Changes made to SMS content are updated live across all platforms for all users.
! TIP: Use the "Show Filters" function at the top of the SMS section page to temporarily sort the items:

Start-up and Shut-down checklist items

Maintenance checklist items.
SMS Reviews:
To mark an item as reviewed:
From an SMS section, select View or Edit on the individual item you'd like to review.
If in Edit mode, make any changes required. For both View and Edit modes, scroll to the bottom and select "Mark as reviewed"
(Note: in edit mode, if no changes are made you can't save an item as being reviewed. Go back and select VIEW to mark an item as reviewed without making edits)
A window appears where you can add notes and confirm "Mark as reviewed"
The review summary will now appear in the content item under Recent Reviews.
If edits where made the previous version is also saved under Last Edited.

View and re-instate previous versions:
From an SMS section, select EDIT on the individual item with the history you'd like to view.
Scroll to the bottom of the window and select the version you'd like to view. This will populate the edit window with content from that version, but will NOT automatically save it as the current version YET.
Check and make sure it's correct, then hit SAVE to make it the current version.
